Fincher isn't a Facebook man, nor is writer Aaron Sorkin, which is probably what makes The Social Network succeed. A tightly woven tale of human nature and revenge, the film was developed from Ben Mezrich's book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal, which is basically told from bitter co-founder Eduardo Saverin's point-of-view. Supported by an eerie Trent Reznor soundtrack, scintillating dialogue, and an insanely good performance by Jesse Eisenberg as the ambitious, socially challenged computer-coding genius Mark Zuckerberg, The Social Network is brilliant and absorbing — part Shakespearean tragedy, part Revenge of the Nerds.

Various locations says…

On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history... but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications.
