“If you think getting smashed with your friends and wailing at a screen in some little booth was the limit of karaoke's range, you are sorely mistaken. Head to Arlene's Grocery any given Monday for proof of that at the longest-running live karaoke show in the world, Arlene's World Famous Live R&R Karaoke. A full band will back you up on stage as you belt out the hit of your choice. To celebrate the anniversary, photographers Kevin J. Dotson and Mark Ovaska are displaying (at Arlene's, of course) their prints of karaoke stars caught in a fleeting moment of rock superstardom. It's a fitting tribute.”

Arlene’s Grocery celebrates its ten-year anniversary of Arlene’s World Famous Live R & R Karaoke—the longest running live karaoke show in the world—with a photo exhibition by photographers Kevin J. Dotson and Mark Ovaska and by hosting yet another Monday night of revelry. Dotson and Ovaska’s work documents Arlene’s World Famous Live R & R Karaoke through the media of black & white silver gelatin prints from film, and a digital slideshow with audio. Dotson and Ovaska’s exhibit of 12 printed images, selected from thousands taken over twelve Karaoke Mondays between May and September of this year, will be on display at Arlene’s through December 30th, 2010.
