This week-long celebration of alternative sexuality walks the fine line between pure hedonistic pleasure and cinematic artistry. The fest kicks off with a party at dungeon-esque LES lounge Kush that features such shorts as the wicked Truffaut homage, The 400 Blow Jobs. Other highlights include the US premiere of S&M Judge, based on a true story about a respected judge who gives in to his wife's masochistic desires; Modern Love is Automatic, a punk-scored comedy concerning the pleasures and pitfalls of a nurse who moonlights as a dominatrix; and a sneak peek of Village Voice columnist-turned-pornographer Tristan Taormino's latest Vivid creation, which explores the submissive fantasies of adult starlets who like really rough sex.
