Craig Wright's sleek interpretation of Oedipus Rex opens after the dirty secret is revealed and Oedipus (Seth Numrich) and Jocasta (Veanne Cox) are holed up in their marital bedroom contemplating next moves. Text messages replace the traditional Greek chorus, while the drama is heightened with the striking image of Cox naked in a bath, instantly conveying the forbidden desire. If Wright's ending feels a touch forced, it's counterbalanced by the sheer amount of primal electricity in the air during the play's taut 80 minutes.
