The Rubin's annual festival for the inquisitive brings together artists, scientists, and even a Tibetan lama to explore the ways of the mind through dance, film, music, and philosophical discourse. Highlights include a discussion on the intracacies of time with Charlie Kaufman and string theorist Brian Greene; a workshop on "awake awareness" with meditation teacher Loch Kelly and neuroscientist Zoran Josipovic; and an exploration on how the brain measures fear with longtime Patti Smith guitarist Lenny Kaye and Joseph E. LeDoux, a neuroscientist who moonlights as a singer/guitarist in the heavy-metal band Amygdaloids.
