French cosmetics heavy-hitter L'Oréal reveals that the quest for physical beauty is profoundly deep, with roots in prehistoric times. The fascinating (if, we wonder, biased) findings are jaw-dropping, and are collected by French publisher (and fellow heavy-hitter) Gallimard in the super-posh, pyramidal five-volume 100,000 Years of Beauty. FIAF celebrates the collection's English-language launch with an evening featuring Beatrice Dautresme, managing director of the L'Oreal Corporate Foundation, and Elisabeth Azoulay, editorial director of 100,000 Years of Beauty. The beautiful people are on hand, soaking it in and clinking cocktails in the chic Le Skyroom.
