“Wakey! Wakey! is a high-charged five-piece Brooklyn band crafting anthemic songs like that would almost be comfortable in stadium-sized arenas — if not for their disarmingly beautiful violin interludes. It's the merging of these two worlds that's the lifeblood of the talented group led by Mike Grubbs, whose songs seem both warmly familiar and charmingly original. Disparate influences from Journey to (yup) Fiddler on the Roof converge beautifully on "Take It Like a Man." Tonight's early show features upbeat indie openers Harper Blynn.”
