- The Shat Ball - Captain Kirk's Birthday Party Event
"Captain Kirk is climbing that mountain. Why is he climbing that mountain?" William Shatner ponders this over and over in a/v electro gurus Fall on Your Sword's "Shatner of the Mount." But if tonight's bash is any indication, he's climbing it to get to the party. The Knitting Factory celebrates all things Kirk at tonight's Shat Ball with help from the wisecracking Raspberry Bros (think Mystery Science Theater 3000, but dirtier), a "Kirk-aoke" contest to find the best Captain Kirk impersonation, plenty of Romulan ale, a set from the aforementioned Fall on Your Sword, and of course classic cuts from Shatner himself pumped through the stereo. Climb that mountain; we'll see you on the other side, at the Knit.
