Renée Fleming gives divas a good name. She is one of the handful of singers (another is the last Three Tenors, now a baritone) who can request the production of her choice (Rossini's Armida comes to the Met in April), has the reputation of being kind to both colleagues and fans, and dresses the part on and offstage with impeccable taste. The popular American soprano who has desserts and perfumes named in her honor is the first guest in the Metropolitan Opera Guild's new series of interviews combined with video highlights and, if you wish, a reception. Like the HD transmissions, the Met has come up with another positive way of bringing their work off-site to a potentially larger audience
