The centerpiece of New York Theatre Ballet's second installment of Dance on a Shoestring is a rare showing of Agnes de Mille's Three Virgins and a Devil. Once a fixture of the American Ballet Theatre's repertory, this 1941 work established de Mille as a storyteller who combined ballet and theatrical dance with a wicked sense of humor. In it, three medieval maidens (elegantly attired by the famous trio Motley) encounter a frizzy-haired bad boy who brings out their worst traits. Students from Ballet School NY are also featured, along with an excerpt from Andrea Miller's Blush, which returns after a successful appearance in November's Shoestring.
