Bronx-born Haale draws on her Iranian heritage to continue the journey of the Velvet Underground and Led Zeppelin in merging deep blues driven rock riffs with middle eastern melodies and guttural chanting. Her incredibly versatile voice effortlessly oscillates between carefree indie lilt and soulful belt, providing a powerful contrast. Tonight, she debuts new material as the Mast with her producer/percussionist Matt Kilmer. Their first single, "The Moon Song," has a decidedly indie-folk vibe and is a welcome new direction for this talented chanteuse.
