Until the Royal Shakespeare Company sets up camp at The Armory in summer 2011, New Yorkers have to make do with the local options. Fortunately, this isn’t much of a hardship. Theatre for a New Audience’s production of Measure for Measure, directed by Arin Arbus, expertly tackles Shakespeare’s ever-timely dark comedy on the sticky definitions of virtue and vice. The entire cast delivers Shakespeare’s language with enviable ease, and Jefferson Mays — best known for his stellar performance in I Am My Own Wife on Broadway — captures the play's levity and seriousness as The Duke.
