The Amoralists Theatre Company celebrates their season opening and new home at Theatre 80 St. Marks with the world premiere of resident playwright Derek Ahonen's latest. Keeping with its mission of presenting the raw and real, Poorhouse follows Paulie's quest to an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts, a forerunner of Ultimate Fighting) championship. Tournament fighting, however, is nothing compared to an confronting family and friends. Happy In The Poorhouse is both funny and refreshingly adult.
