Comedy Below Canal™: Some Folks Hosted by Wyatt Cenac
Thursday Mar 18, 2010 (9pm)
$12
“Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac can keep a straight face with the best of them, even as he spins satiric yarns ensnaring an unsuspecting religious fanatic or Tea Partier. This weekend, he takes a break from the daily grind of fake news to host the new 92Y Tribeca comedy jam, Some Folks. You can also catch Jessi Klein (Michael and Michael Have Issues) and HuffPo's Baratunde Thurston, with a couple musical guests to boot.”
Some Folks is a new show hosted by Wyatt Cenac that seamlessly and creatively brings together the worlds of comedy and music. Featuring the best performers in New York City, the one-of-a-kind show includes a line-up of brilliant comedians and diverse musicians, for a mix of fan favorites and up-and-coming acts.
This month features comedy from Jessi Klein (Michael and Michael Have Issues) and Baratunde Thurston (Huffington Post, The Onion), plus musical guests Alan Hampton and DJ Brainchild.
Wyatt Cenac is writer and correspondent for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and star of Medicine for Melancholy.
