The New Standards are John Munson (of Trip Shakespear and multi-platinum Semisonic) on bass, Chan Poling (founder of the seminal 80's haute-punk-pop group The Suburbs) on piano, and Steve Roehm (Billygoat, Electropolis) on Vibes. Together creating an ambitious and insane combinating, performing this evening along with The Sharp Things, who started simple - a reaction to the dead-end of indie rock. It has since become an entity that, yes, they sometimes have trouble controlling, as they repeatedly and compulsively pose the question; "What would it sound like if we...?".
