We'll be front row tonight to ogle Lambchop live at 92Y Tribeca. No, they're not performing (the raucous alt-country band rarely does in the states, unfortunately), but we've got the next best thing: a live documentary of a legendary Cats Cradle performance, plus a Q&A with frontman/Mr. Lambchop himself, Kurt Wagner. Merge records should turn 20 more often, if we can expect more special nights like this.

92YTribeca says…

Screening plus conversation with Kurt Wagner of Lambchop.

Lambchop has been on the Merge label since 1993, releasing a string of widely varied but consistently brilliant records. But the live Lambchop experience has been somewhat elusive in the US. While the band has toured the gilded theaters of Europe and elsewhere for nearly two decades, the Nashville group has seldom toured their home country. For Merge's 20th anniversary, Lambchop performed live and the show was captured in this great concert video. By the end of their set, everyone in the packed Cats Cradle - band and audience both - was levitating a few inches off the ground...

Join us for a special screening of the concert film, with Kurt Wagner in person for post-screening discussion. The concert film will be preceded by Buttons, a 7 minute short film featuring Kurt Wagner playing a song in a barbershop.
