Mary Lucier is an internationally acclaimed artist who has worked in media including sculpture, photography, video, installation and performance. A pioneer video artist, she was among the first whose pieces were acquired by museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Critic Irving Sandler is the founder of Artists Space and the author of several books on contemporary art, including The Triumph of American Painting: A History of Abstract Expressionism, The New York School: Painters and Sculptors of the Fifties and Art of the Postmodern Era: From the Late 1960s to the Early 1990s.
