The final concert of the 2010 MATA Festival pairs one of New York's most exciting new groups, theArgento Chamber Ensemble, with Italian new music ensemble L'Arsenale, a unit that is rapidly becoming a vital force on the European scene. Composers featured on this FREE evening of music include Americans Michelle Lou and Alexander Sigman; Italians Nicola Buso, Lorenzo Tomio, Stefano Trevisi, and L'Arsenale Director Filippo Perocco (with combined forces from both groups). The program will also include the yet-to-be-announced winning entry in American Composers Forum Philadelphia's New Voices project.
MATA's 2009 Festival drew strong critical acclaim from the press and music community's alike. Over four nights at Manhattan's (Le) Poisson Rouge, audiences were treated to performances of works by twenty-two young composers from around the world, including ten world premieres and four works commissioned by MATA. So Percussion, NOW Ensemble, The Knights, Ne(x)tworks, Bing and Rut and Sawako gave each of these works truly stellar, distinctive performances.

MATA continues its annual presentation of sound works with daily presentations of multi-channel works in Le Poisson Rouge's Gallery Bar. Works by 2010 Commissionee Matthew Wright, MATA AD Christopher McIntyre, Antye Greie (aka AGF), and Bjørn Erik Haugen.
