92YTribeca says…

The Iron Mule is proud to celebrate it's 8th Anniversary on Sat, Apr 3. The long-running monthly screening series began life in Apr 2002 as "First Sundays" at the Chicago City Limits theater. Since then, the festival has screened nearly 700 short comedy films, from high end films featuring Hollywood actors to low end videos made by high school students on webcams. Films at The Iron Mule have gone on to screen at Cannes, Sundance, the HBO Comedy Festival, on the Sundance Channel, IFC, the BBC and HBO. After a few venue changes, The Iron Mule is now settling into its second year at 92YTribeca, where they continue showcasing an eclectic mix of short films from around the world.

There are two screenings planned for the evening:

7pm - Features the best of the year's Audience Award winners, including "Stalk Much?", "Factoids & Slapstick," "My Apartment," "Introduction to Physics," "Yulia" and "Official Selection." Also, there will be a selection of the year's Wanna Be A Star? films and a Best Star award will be voted on by the audience.

9pm - Features the best of the year's Judges' Award winners, including "Nemesis," "Fruitless Efforts: Fruit of the Womb," "How to Be Popular," "Knock Knock," "Beast of Burden" and "Time Travel: An Allegory." We'll also throw in a couple other films we feel like showing again and wrap it all up with a smattering of hand-picked awards, still to be determined.
