“Green tea is an ancient tradition, but this Japanese staple gets a thoroughly modern update with Matcha Box, a pop-up store from online retailers Matcha Source. Head over to the cafe for a refreshing matcha lemonade, homemade wagashi, matcha tea cakes, and pastries. Traditional preparations like whisking the powdered tea in a bowl, are also available — but only for the month of June!”

Matcha Box is serving matcha powdered green tea from Japan whisked in a tea bowl, along side more modern interpretations like iced matcha lattes and matcha lemonade prepared in a martini shaker. Our cafe service will include home made wagashi and french inspired pastries by two NY pastry chefs. The decor will be a blend of old-school NYC charm and contemporary furnishings by the artist Jason Middlebrook and Pad Outdoor. Kimonos may make occasional appearances.
