“Giant Robot's Printed Matter series has established itself as the place to hunt for great original artwork by up-and-coming artists on a limited budget. Some artists to look out for are Alex Lukas, whose work has appeared in the New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle; Mika Oshima, whose dense lines are reminiscent of Charles Burns but with a surrealist edge worthy of Magritte; and Diana Sudayka, whose dark and stunning screenprints have graced posters and album covers for the Decembrists. And one thing that is continually amazing about Printed Matter is the sheer quantity of artwork that lines the walls. In addition to the prints and artwork, also tempting are the shelves lined with limited-edition zines, hard-to-find accessories, and irresistible toys like the ever-collectible Uglydoll action figures.”
