This exhibition explores themes of dislocation and displacement in contemporary photography. Drawn almost entirely from the Met’s collection, Between Here and There: Passages in Contemporary Photography, on view through February 13, features 22 artists whose photographic pieces convey a sense of a rootless or unfixed existence. The exhibition includes works by Vito Acconci, Ed Ruscha, Richard Long, On Kawara, Bruce Nauman, Lothar Baumgarten, Matthew Buckingham, Valie Export, Felix Gonzalez–Torres, Svetlana Kopystiansky, Dennis Oppenheim, Fazal Sheikh, Erin Shirreff, Robert Smithson, Anne Turyn, Jeff Wall, and Weng Fen.
