Legendary surfer Tony Caramanico is also an accomplished collage artist who worked for Peter Beard; his Surf Journals were published last year. Drew Carolan shot skaters and punk kids on Astor Place and assisted Richard Avedon. And Alberto Vargas, a "crazy talented" 17-year-old was discovered by a gallerist while in high school in Queens. The artwork of these and many other noted documentarians of the surf and skate scenes is on view at Clic. And come early; the limited-edition decks by Hirst, Koons, and Murakami starting at $500 are sure to be flying fast.

Clic Gallery says…

Clic Gallery says:

The hedonism and purity of the surfer lifestyle meets the uninhibited mischief of skatepunks in Clic Gallery's new summer show, SURF/SKATE, featuring the collages of surf king Tony Caramanico; the skater photographs of Drew Carolan and the beach photography of Antoine Verglas.

Accompanying the show will be a display of a number of spectacular limited edition signed skateboard decks featuring designs by pop artists Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, and Takashi Murakami, specially commissioned by Supreme Skateboards.
