The Metropolitan Museum of Art says…

Don’t miss this major international loan exhibition! The World of Khubilai Khan: Chinese Art in the Yuan Dynasty, on view at the Met through January 2, 2011, gives a very good idea of what greeted the eyes of Marco Polo when he first reached the Great Khan Khubilai’s capital in China. More than 200 works date from 1215 to 1368 in every art form, including gigantic marble statues and a cloth of gold, and it highlights new art forms generated in China during the Yuan Dynasty, one of the most dynamic and culturally rich periods in Chinese history.
