For over 20 years, December 1st has been designated World AIDS Day, a national day of awareness and remembrance. The arts community went one further and dubbed it the Day With(out) Art, and has developed programs that draw attention to the continued crisis as well as the strides that have been made. This year, cultural organizations all over the country honor the day with free screenings of Untitled (2010), a collaborative project between artist Jim Hodges and filmmakers Encke King and Carlos Marques da Cruz. The 60-minute experimental film is a montage of clips that capture the activist spirit ignited by the early years of the AIDS epidemic. Following the 6:30pm screening at IFC Center, Creative Time hosts a discussion moderated by curator Nato Thompson with artist Malik Gaines, activist Che Gossett, and filmmaker Shanti Avirgan. RSVP to reserve your seat.

Note:

Untitled screenings take place around the city on the Day With(out) Art/World AIDS Day.
