Winds howl, crickets chirp, and coyotes yodel in Canyon Candy, a site-specific installation that expands a wild western-themed 16-minute music video from Luaka Bop recording artists Javelin and filmmaker Mike Anderson, into a fully immersive experience. Part of the Clocktower Gallery's music video series (which launched with a Michael Stipe curated program in Spring 2011), the exhibit invites visitors to wander through an intricately designed film-like set while listening to a soundtrack created by Javelin, who are known for turning field-recorded and found sound samples into memorable melodies. From termite hills and cactus fields to campsites, this awe-inspiring show is worth the trip. Check Clocktower's site for special events associated with the exhibit.
