Don't let the extraordinary experience that is Sleep No More pass you by. Dubbed immersive theatre by its parents, the award-winning British company Punchdrunk, this baby, which blends Shakespeare's Macbeth with heaping spoonfuls of Hitchcock and a dash of Kubrick, is really yours to shape and mold. After a few niceties, the audience is masked, told not to speak, and let loose into the alluring and ominous McKittrick Hotel — the name, a nod to Hitchcock's Vertigo. Formerly the nightclub Twilo, the space has been broken into upwards of 90 intricately designed rooms over several floors. As you while away your time opening drawers, leafing through books, navigating forests, and basically trying to make sense of what's going on, performers scurry by silently, telling their tales through dance and movement. You can race after them (bring your trainers if you go this route as we almost fell down a flight of stairs), or you can choose your own path. It's entirely self-guided. However, we have a word of warning. You may want to rest up before your tour — it's quite possible your dreams will be haunted by images of bloody bath tubs, taxidermy rats, and headless dolls.
