British artist of Chinese descent Tim Hon Hung Lee synthesizes his Eastern heritage and Western upbringing with elaborate drawings in Chinese ink on rice paper of skulls engulfed by flowers, and severed heads hidden in flowing strands of hair. Death imagery is beautified in each of the meticulous drawings, with lyrical titles like Intangible, immutable and the immortal adored, creating what the artist calls "a series of projected nostalgia and exaggerated narratives" that is both delicately morbid and thick with dual-cultural references.
