There are few rules at monthly platter party I Love Vinyl: one being a strict "no laptops" policy, which we salute, and the other being a "no Top 40 radio crap" rule, which we also appreciate. Seems other folks have too, as tonight I Love Vinyl celebrates its two-year anniversary at the gallery bar of LPR. Expect to hear jams from several selectors — disco and Dilla, electro, funk, and Afrobeat are all fair game, as long as it's on record.

 At the Gallery

Founded in the Summer of 2009, and without a doubt one of the best underground parties in the heart of gotham, Wax Poetics magazine, Halcyon, Raw Fusion, Great Weekend, and Fusicology present this monthly all-vinyl oasis, featuring a dream team of resident romantics. The sounds are mind-wide, foot-friendly, and snap crackle popping. Anything is fair game, but you can expect to hear some soul, disco, dilla, boogie, hustle, hip-hop, old-school house, no wave, new jack swing, dancefloor jazz, bossa nova, salsa, funk, electro, and afrobeat. No pretentious bullshit, no dress code (not that you shouldn't come sexy as hell), no commercial radio crap, and no laptops allowed.
