“Touring in support of their sophomore full-length, Father, Son, Holy Ghost, and December release Lawrence, the boys who go by Girls deliver catchy indie-pop tunes that span genres from psychedelia to surf-rock and gospel. Based in San Francisco, the band's core consists of songwriter Christopher Owens and bassist/producer Chet "JR" White. Owens, who was raised in the Children of God cult and speaks openly about his opiate addiction, began collaborating with White in 2007 following a bad breakup. With lyrics that explore love and loss, Girls beg comparison to the Beach Boys, Elvis Costello, Pink Floyd, and the Everly Brothers. Still not sure if Girls are for you?
