“This group show features five young Brooklyn artists, who all reference simultanéisme, a term coined in the early 20th century by artists Robert and Sonia Delaunay, who saw how when certain designs were juxtaposed, affected one another. All of the artists showing (Ryan DaWalt, Rachel Howe, Shawn Kuruneru, Jeffrey Scott Mathews, and Meghan Petras) have similar motifs and processes, though they create within different mediums — offering you a chance to explore the current artistic zeitgeist from various perspectives: textiles and metalwork, painting and paperwork are all in play.”
