A name like Thurston Moore immediately demands respect. The post-punk godfather has been rocking out with Sonic Youth for 30 years, and that goes without mentioning his many collaborations with artists like DJ Spooky and Mike Watt, or his work with Dim Stars. Moore's sophomore solo turn came with 2007's Trees Outside the Academy, an album filled with atmospheric pop tunes, followed by another solo release, the Demolished Thoughts acoustic album, produced by Beck.

Lincoln Center says…

Thurston Moore, one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, takes time out from his regular gig fronting Sonic Youth to share music from his new folk album, Demolished Thoughts—a complete departure for this "noise" specialist. His guitar will be stirred, not shaken, in The Allen Room.
