Housing Works Bookstore Cafe says…

To celebrate the publication of her book, The American Way of Eating: Undercover at Walmart, Applebee’s, Farm Fields and the Dinner Table, Scribner author and Brooklyn-based journalist Tracie McMillan brings together some of the city’s premier writers and farmers to ask if our national obsession with food has gone too far, and whether it’s worth taking food seriously at all.

Join Food52 founder and former New York Times writer Amanda Hesser; journalist Annia Ciezadlo, whose much-lauded Day of Honey explores food and war in the Middle East; Rev. Devanie Jackson, who founded Bed-Stuy Farm and is one of the city’s most-dedicated urban farmers; James Oseland, editor-in-chief at Saveur, judge on Top Chef Masters, and author, Cradle of Flavor; and McMillan, whose The American Way of Eating has been one of the most-anticipated books of the spring season.
