“Filmed over seven years, the Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye depicts the efforts in intimate detail of legendary musician Genesis P. Orridge (Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV), and artist Lady Jaye to become two parts of the same person — a process of body modification they called their Pandrogyne project. This film, directed by Marie Losier, won the Teddy Award for Best Documentary at the Berlin International Film Festival. Perhaps you'll get some understanding of why William Burroughs had said of the artist, “He’s the only person I’ve ever met who I’d hero worshipped."”

A hypnotic and intimate portrait of Genesis P-Orridge, the art rocker from Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, and Lady Jaye, his lover and collaborator for over 15 years.
As the ultimate expression of their connection, they created an art project in which they sought out a third, and merged identity through plastic surgery, bleached out hair and coordinated outfits. Filmmaker Marie Losier spent seven years with them, capturing a most unique love story.
The film has played festivals all over the world and won many awards, including the Teddy and Caligari from the Berlin Film Festival.
