Adult Education is an NYC-based monthly event series where various speakers present brief, multimedia lectures on a shared theme. Presented by Stay Free! and hosted by Charles Star, Adult Ed takes place on the first Tuesday of the month at Housing Works in Manhattan. Shows start at 7 pm.

Drew Dernavich: Call and Response Dernavich will explain the the origins of American gospel and blues music via Jerry Seinfeld, John Tesh and Star Trek, which is pretty much the wrong approach.

Gary Drevitch: What I’ve Learned From the New York Times Corner Office Drevitch discusses what it really takes to be a CEO.

Breandan I. Koerner: The Closest Thing We Have To Thor How a balding, round-shouldered Ukrainian managed to throw a 16-pound contraption farther than any other human—and why his record will stand forever.

Corey Pansolph: Effective Cures for Cabin Fever From alcohol abuse to swimming in the icy waters of the Atlantic, humans of cold weather climates have searched for a cure to the mindf&$k that is the mid-winter blues. Pandolph will show how the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is the apotheosis of this quest.

Jill Stoddard: How to Make Money From Occupy Wall Street In 2008, the naturally-occurring variations in the world economy brought Jill’s dream of shopping regularly at Whole Foods to a grinding halt. But a fevered vision while buying street fruit inspired her to create a simple program that has brought in millions and millions of (Chechen) dollars. And she is ready to share it with you!
