It's hard not to feel good about attending an event at the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe. Not only does the cozy venue present some of the top literary, musical, and comedic talents around, but it also uses all the proceeds for its charitable work with people living with HIV/AIDS. Hosting everyone from Neil Gaiman to Björk, Housing Works happenings can be hot tickets, but the store is worth visiting any day of the week, even if it's just for a cup of coffee and a browse through the well-stocked shelves.
