Mercury Lounge is a Lower East Side icon. Once the Astor Mansion's servants' quarters, this historic structure has also served as a restaurant and a tombstone shop (although not at the same time) before transforming into a music venue with one of Manhattan's best small stages. Come early for a drink at the long, front-room bar and stick around to catch a young band make its bid for the big time.
