The Rubin Museum of Art offers an expertly curated collection of Himalayan art in a beautiful Chelsea building. Once the Barneys women's store, the building underwent an extensive five-year renovation that maintained the signature spiral staircase and created six floors of warm and tranquil galleries. The Museum's meditative mood is balanced by the shop and café in the Colonnade, which comes alive Wednesday and Friday nights as the K2 Lounge with a performance venue on the lower level.
