Editor's Note

Bhakti yoga, also known as "heart-centered yoga," comes from a Sanskrit term which defines the practice of developing loving devotion to a personal god. The fifth-annual Bhakti Fest puts the notion to work by focusing on kirtan, or chanting mantra. Daily yoga classes range from Vinyasa-flow and Iyengar to Kundalini, Anusara, and of course, Bhakti yoga — all taught by international leaders in kirtan. The festival also features a series of related lectures and seminars, designed to draw on the palatable communal energy in order to open the heart and align the body, mind, and spirit.
