Nitehawk Cinema’s Film Feasts series adds a tasty third dimension to your cinematic experience. As the film screens, waiters serve you courses that are directly related to what you see on screen. For tonight’s edition, the Brooklyn theater has partnered with Greenpoint Harbor Brewing Company for a meal based on John Carpenter’s Escape from New York. The 1981 sci-fi classic is set in 1997 and envisions the island of Manhattan as a maximum security prison. Eye-patching wearing, ex-soldier Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) has been called in to rescue the President of the United States, who has been captured after the crash of Air Force One. As you sit back and take in this action-packed post-apocalyptic gem, expect to indulge in No Escape Oysters, the Twin Tower Dogs, Duke’s Deep Dish and Ox Baker’s Finisher, a peanut butter cheesecake. And, since each course is better with liquid refreshment, Greenpoint Harbor Brewing company has come up with a selection of perfectly paired suds.
