Some folks may hit up a haunted house, others may watch a scary movie, but for us, the ultimate Halloween pre-game is a tour through a cemetery. For this informative walk, presented by the Municipal Art Society of New York, guests are guided through Woodlawn Cemetery at twilight. The Director of Historical Services for Woodlawn, Susan Olsen, spends the session exploring multiple perspectives of the Halloween season while visiting cemetery landmarks including the Belmont mausoleum, the Woolworth family mausoleum, the mausoleum of Olive Thomas Pickford, and the memorial to Ruth Snyder, the first woman to meet her end in the electric chair.
