Beatboxing is an art form not often seen outside its native habitat of underground slams and showcase competitions. NYC native Adam Matta, who has made a career of taking his stunning talent for spitting beats to unprecedented places, is just the man to bring it to the stage. A master of both traditional beatboxing and innovative vocal performance, Matta has performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to a track on the Hunger Games soundtrack. For this solo show at Joe's Pub he blends hip-hop, jazz, house, and more to create captivating sounds. It's hard to believe they all come from just one guy.
