Celebrating 25 years as the leading festival of its kind, the 41-day-long San Francisco Jazz Festival brings together leading lights of the jazz scene, legends and rising stars alike. This year's must-see performers include Pharoah Sanders, one of the world's greatest tenor saxophonists; Dee Dee Bridgewater, a passionate jazz vocalist who brings the sounds of Mali to America; and Ceu, who many call "the future of Brazilian popular music." The event's organizers aim to educate the community about jazz, so the festival also features pre-concert talks and films that address such subjects as race and gender in the genre.
