Music: Rock/Pop Roky Erickson w/ 1990s

As a founding member of 13th Floor Elevators, Roky Erickson wasn't shy about experimenting with drugs in the '60s, describing psychedelic music as "where the pyramid meets the eye, man!" Perhaps in an effort to continue trying new things — or perhaps because of a nearly three-decade-long battle with mental illness that involved electroshock therapy— Erickson started up a heavy metal-ish, horror-themed project called Bleib Alien. Whatever his inspiration, Erickson's recent return to form has proved to be one of the great comeback stories in rock 'n roll.
