So that's what happens when you lock eight Australians in a room with an analog sampler and a glockenspiel. (Try that with Brits, and you might end up with '70s-TV-theme-infatuated the Go! Team.) The sentiment behind both giddily amorphous groups might be the same (read: glee), but the slightly more idiosyncratic song craft and whimsically syncopated touches of AiH recall other homespun popsmiths like the Blow or even a less woozy Ariel Pink. Down two members but as quirky as ever, the band is touring in support of its third album and recent Polyvinyl release, Places Like This.
