More Flavor: Food/Wine La Soirée: 26th Beaujolais and Beyond Festival

The third Thursday of November marks the release of this year's beaujolais nouveau, the world's lightest and youngest red wine. The official uncorking has become something of an event, and oenophilic organizations nationwide celebrate its appearance. In San Francisco, the fete for this vin de primeur is being delayed by a few days, but come Saturday, the city's French-American Chamber of Commerce hosts an evening party, complete with music, charity auctions, and additional sustenance courtesy of local charcuteries (Marcel et Henri), bakeries (Bakers of Paris), and chocolatiers (Ghirardelli).
