Firmly staking their place within the lineage of bands such as the Child Molesters, Throbbing Gristle, and the Revolting Cocks, whose names are as antisocial and flippant as their music, Montreal quartet AIDS Wolf generate a bilious attack of abused guitars and art-school theatrics that test the patience of even the most calloused noise fan. XBXRX are just as unrelenting, sending their short punk missives through a paper shredder of damaged equipment and repeated audience confrontation. Monotonix add a metal-esque quotient to the lineup (think Alice Cooper without the costumes), and indie-pop legend Calvin Johnson opens with an odd-man-out solo set.
