Film Charles Chaplin Retrospective

Charlie Chaplin's Tramp is an icon by design, but the bowler hat and mustache only go so far towards describing the substance of cinema's Chaplin. The Pacific Film Archive celebrates the artist's complex legacy with a full retrospective of his five-decade career. Things get underway with a Sunday afternoon screening of The Kid (1921), in which the Tramp character shows an abandoned child the ropes of slum living.
