As artists increasingly incorporate technology into their practices, and scientists look beyond the academy to frame hypotheses, it's no wonder that the boundaries between art and science have blurred. To help delineate the issues brought up by this cross-pollination, CCA's Graduate Program has assembled a panel discussion in conjunction with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' current exhibit BioTechnique. SymbioticA lab's Oron Catts and science theoretician and Philip K. Dick-buff Richard Doyle will parse the overlap of aesthetics, empiricism, and biological processes.
