More Flavor: Lecture Eric Schlosser in conversation with Orville Schell

Eric Schlosser made a name for himself with Fast Food Nation, the best-selling critique of America's fast-food industry done in the muckraking style of Upton Sinclair's classic The Jungle. The book was impossible to ignore, not just for its nauseating reports from the killing floor, but also for the scope of Schlosser's attack — a devastating exposé encompassing labor practices, public health, and decades of deep-pocketed corruption. The writer has since helped adapt the work for a film directed by Richard Linklater, and, more provocatively, for a children's book called Chew on This. City Arts & Letters invites Schlosser to discuss his highly engaged approach to investigative journalism.
